I know that Lala0428 wanted something to help brighten her smile, so I thought that I would help her out today! And believe me when I say that this particular fix is easy - only two ingredients!
You may or may not know this but strawberries can actually lighten teeth and remove discolorations. How great is that? It may not rival a trip to the dentist, but hopefully you'll see a difference in the quality of your smile!
Strawberry Smile Brightener
-courtesy of The Ultimate Natural Beauty Book
1 ripe strawberry
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Crush the strawberry into a pulp, then mix with the baking powder. Use a soft toothbrush to "paint" the mixture onto teeth and allow to set for 5 minutes. Then brush thoroughly to remove the mixture and rinse with plenty of water.
Teeth also love...
Fresh sage. Rub a leaf over your teeth to make them brighter and whiter.
Raspberries, which are reputed to help dissolve plaque when you eat them.
Fresh spearmint. Chew on a fresh leaf to whiten the teeth, condition the gums, and help prevent bad breath.
Calendula tea. A mouthful is great for healing mouth ulcers and for treating gum disease.
Happy Smiling!

Very neat tips! Thanks.
1weird! You would think the sugar in fruit would be bad...
2Very cool stuff!
3Apparently it's the malic acid in the strawberries that does the trick. And I guess the natural sugars aren't so bad, particularly in such low doses.
Either way, it's nice to think that I can snack and get my teeth whitened at the same time!
4Awesome tricks! Nothing prettier than a big beautiful white smile! Thanks for the tips!
5ALSW, you are my hero!!! You know I will be trying all of these.

8Wow - some of these concoctions do sound strange - BUT if they work, that's what matters, right?
